Patrol is the backbone of operations at the Sheriff’s Office. This
division, the largest in our agency, is responsible for maintaining
peace and order throughout the county 365 days a year. The main
Operations building in Inverness and all Community Resource Offices are
closed during weekends and observed holidays, but road patrol and law
enforcement services to citizens never stop.
Although our county’s population has seen tremendous growth in the last
few years, our crime rate remains extremely low. This is due to
the hard work of the men and women in the Patrol Division.
The Patrol Division is currently broken down into two districts, east and west.
Within each district, assigned squads of deputy sheriffs work 12-hour shifts.
Within the patrol division, deputy sheriffs are part of special operational
units also.
