The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is always looking for high caliber

positions.
To be considered for employment with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office,
the following qualifications must be met:
Support Personnel:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- U.S. Citizen or resident alien
- Good moral character
- Must reside in Citrus County or a adjoining county
- Tobacco Free: applicants must not have used tobacco
products for a minimum of six months prior to the date of
hire and will not be permitted to use tobacco products at
any time, whether on or off duty
- Discharge from military under honorable conditions
- Applicants may be required to pass a skills test based
on position applied for
- Communications Officer applicant must be familiar with
the geography of Citrus County and adjacent areas
- Successfully pass a background investigation
- Undergo a computer voice stress analysis and psychological test
- Satisfactorily complete a medical examination, including drug screen
Sworn Personnel:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- U.S. Citizen
- Minimum 19 years of age
- Must be State of Florida law enforcement certified, standards set by the
Florida Department of Law Enforcement
- Good moral character as defined in F.A.C. 11B-27.0011
- Discharge from military under honorable conditions
- No felony convictions and no misdemeanor convictions involving perjury or false statement
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical abilities test
- Successfully pass a background investigation
- Satisfactorily complete a medical examination, including drug screen
- Undergo a computer voice stress analysis and psychological test
- Posses a valid Florida drivers license
