To be considered for employment with the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, the following qualifications must be met:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• U.S. Citizen
• Discharge from military under honorable conditions
• Good moral character
• Must reside in Citrus County or a neighboring county

• Candidates must successfully complete a computerized skills test and achieve passing scores: 63% non-data entry modules, 2265 data entry modules, and 23 w.p.m. typing
• Must be familiar with the geography of Citrus County and adjacent areas
• Must have the ability to think and act quickly, calmly and appropriately in emergency situations

• 19 years of age
• Good moral character as defined in F.A.C. 11B-27.0011
• Must not have been dishonorably discharged from any branch of the military
• Must not have any felony convictions
• Must not have any misdemeanor convictions involving perjury or false statement
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical fitness test and physical exam
• Must successfully complete a background investigation including drug testing
• Must satisy minimum training and certification requirements set by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement
• Must have achieved a passing score on the State Officer Certification Examination
