To be considered for employment with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, the following qualifications apply to all positions:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. For the Deputy Sheriff (sworn) position minimum age is 19 years of age.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States
- Must reside in Citrus County or an adjoining county
- If applicable, honorable discharge from the military
- Applicants may be required to pass a skills test based on the position
- Successfully pass a background investigation
- Undergo a truth verification analysis and, for sworn positions, a psychological evaluation
- Satisfactorily complete a medical examination, including drug screen
- Meet the essential job functions, including physical requirement, with or without accommodation
